Business Directory Data: Publicly available business information from OpenStreetMap (Open Database Licence) and voluntary submissions — names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, and categories — all publicly available information.
Business Submission Data: When you submit a listing we collect: business name, address, phone, business email, website URL, category, and description. Your personal email is used only to contact you about your listing and is never displayed publicly.
Contact Form Data: Your name, email, subject, and message — used solely to respond to your inquiry and never shared with third parties.
Automatically Collected: We do not use tracking cookies, analytics pixels, or advertising scripts. Standard server logs are retained for 30 days for security purposes only.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Display approved business listings in the public directory
- Respond to contact and support requests
- Notify business owners of changes to their listing where email was provided
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or spam submissions
We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, advertising, or sale to third parties.
5. Email Address Protection
Email addresses submitted through our forms are never displayed publicly on the website. They are stored securely on our server and used only for internal communication regarding your listing or inquiry. We do not publish, sell, or share email addresses with any third party.
6. Consent
Under Alberta PIPA, we are required to obtain meaningful consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information. By submitting a business listing or contact form, you consent to the collection and use of that information as described in this policy. 8. Listing Removal
Business owners may request removal or correction of their listing at any time via our contact form. We process removal requests within 48 hours.
9. Data Security
Our website is served exclusively over HTTPS (TLS encryption). Data is stored on a secured server in Canada. We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information. We do not sell, share, or distribute personal or business contact information to any third party.
10. Data Retention
Active listing data is retained while the listing is active. Contact form messages are deleted after 90 days. Server security logs are deleted after 30 days. Personal information deletion requests are processed within 48 hours.
11. Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately through our contact form.
12. Links to External Sites
Our directory contains links to business websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external websites.
